Martha E. Ronat, age 70 of Greenville, passed away at her home, surrounded by her family on Friday, February 26, 2016.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at the Greenville First United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Mt. Auburn Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church Monday from 4-8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Mt. Gilead Church or Bond County Hospice.
Martha E. Ronat, the daughter of Clarence and Henrietta (Jenner) Wall, was born July 1, 1945 in Highland, Illinois. She grew up in Greenville, attended the local schools and graduated from Greenville High School with the class of 1963. Martha worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Eugene Short and Dr. Reginal Blankenship. Martha and Duke Ronat were united in marriage on May 12, 1967 at the First United Methodist Church in Greenville. They have enjoyed 48 years together.
Martha is survived by her husband Duke and their 2 children: Steven Ronat and wife Michelle of Greenville and Stephanie Balducci and husband Randy of Greenville. She was the loving grandmother of 5: Jessica, Rachel, Abigail, Natalie and Madeline. Also surviving is her brother Jerry Wall and wife Sheri. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Betty Harnetiaux.
Martha was an active member of the Greenville First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed visiting shut-ins, volunteering with Meals on Wheels and spending time with her family. She was a huge fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, an avid walker, and loved to bake.
