Chester J. Gaseor

Col. Chester J. Gaseor, US Air Force, Retired, age 89 of Trenton, IL, died Thursday, February 07, 2019, at Faith Care Center in Highland, IL.

He was born on Saturday, July 06, 1929, in Chicago, IL, the son of Joseph and Mary (nee Wawak) Gaseor.

On Saturday, August 23, 1952, he married Susanne V. Gaseor nee Neubauer at Chicago, IL, who survives.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Trenton, IL; V.F.W. Post #2910, Bloomington, IL; Former Member of the Air Force Association.

Chester was born at Chicago, IL and grew up there. He graduated from Lane Tech High School in 1947 and the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, MN in 1952. After graduating college he entered the U.S. Air Force. He served in Athens Greece as a C-47 pilot. He had duties in Hawaii; Rantoul, IL; Denver, Co; Tacoma, WA; San Angelo, TX; and served 1 year in Vietnam as Director of a Air Rescue Unit. He also was a Director of Administration (10 years) for Military Airlift Command where he retired from as a Colonel in 1983. He moved to Trenton, IL a couple years before retirement. He enjoyed gardening; loved his grandchildren and was a real do-it-yourselfer.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 16, 2019.

Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 16, 2019, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL, with Rev. Fr. Pat G. Jakel, ,Pastor, St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL, officiating.

Interment will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Trenton, IL.
