Delores “Dee” Payne, 79, of Hillsboro, passed away at 3:16 a.m. on Friday, January 8, 2021 at Hillsboro Area Hospital.
Dee was born November 16, 1941 in Nokomis, the daughter of Harold and Mary Louise (Dilley) Parks. She married Hugh “Buck” Payne on March 17, 1962 in Hillsboro, and they later divorced.
Dee graduated from Greenville High School in 1959. She was a homemaker, and a devoted, loving daughter, mother, and grandmother. Dee enjoyed watching T.V. especially “The Golden Girls” and “Happy Days”, and having her hair and nails done.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Barbara Jean Allister; brother, Ralph Eugene Parks; and nephew, Gene L. Herndon III.
Dee is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Fleming of Hillsboro; granddaughters, Erica Fleming of Hillsboro, and Vanessa Fleming of Mt. Olive; great granddaughter, Briella Osborn; siblings, Harold Dean (wife, Marlene) Parks of Hillsboro, Mary Ellen Herndon of Hillsboro, and Ronald Lynn (wife, Terri) Parks of Old Ripley; and several nieces and nephews.

Private family ceremonies were held.
