Gerald O. “Jerry” Frey, age 77 of Bowling Green, KY, died Thursday, April 28, 2022, at his home in Bowling Green, KY.

He was born on Thursday, March 15, 1945, in Highland, IL, the son of Arnold and Dolores (nee Weis) Frey.

On Saturday, May 11, 1968, he married Dolores Frey (nee Zobrist) at St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL, who survives.

He was a member of Highland Pistol Club; 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus; St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bowling Green and St. Paul Catholic Church in Highland, IL..

Jerry was born and raised in Highland, IL, where he attended St. Paul Catholic School. He worked for GM for 18 years in St. Louis before moving his family to Bowling Green in 1981, where he worked for the GM Corvette plant for an additional 18 years. Following his time at GM, he did contract work for Alcoa at the Corvette plant, and then gave buyer tours and photo albums at the Corvette Museum for several more years. One of his many accomplishments was organizing the effort to get soccer started in the high school system in Warren County in 1985. Jerry was also interested in golfing, fishing, shooting sports, soccer, and being a referee. He enjoyed spending time on Ancestry.com building the family tree.

Brother-In-Law – Ed (Suzanne) Campbell, Highland, IL

He was preceded in death by:
Father – Arnold Henry “Russo” Frey – Died 6/17/1991
Mother – Dolores Marie Frey (nee Weis) – Died 1/11/2010
Sister – Kathleen L. Campbell – Died 12/24/1998.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home, Bowling Green, KY, and a prayer service at 7:00 pm at the funeral home.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, May 02, 2022, and from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM on Tuesday, May 03, 2022, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 03, 2022, at Saint Paul Catholic Church in Highland, IL.

Interment will be at Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Highland, IL.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic School or Hospice of Southern Kentucky.
