H. Richard Lohman

H. Richard Lohman, age 70 of Marine, Ill.,, died Sunday, May 19, 2024, at his home, Marine, Ill.,.

He was born on Thursday, April 22, 1954.

On Saturday, July 21, 1973, he married Connie Marie Lohman nee McDowell at Second Baptist Church-Granite City.

Mr. Lohman was born at Red Bud, Ill., he was raised in Madison, Ill., and graduated from Madison High School.  He worked at True Manufacturing in Overland, Mo., for over 42 yeas. For the last 35 years he has lived in the Alhambra-Marine, Ill., area. He was an avid wood-worker.  Richard liked to do landscaping and lawn decorating with his wife. Their Halloween decorations were unbelievable.  He enjoyed spending time at his Koi pond and maintaining it. He enjoyed spending time with his fiance’s family; loved listening to music and time with his grandchildren. Decorating for the holidays and spending time outside were important times in his life.

Survivors include: son – Richard Eric (Kimberly) Lohman, Beckemeyer, Ill.; daughter – Contrina J. (Daniel) Gibson, Marine, Ill.; grandchildren – Ciara M. Lohman, Cheyenne M. (Bryant) Holtmann, D.

Skyler (Allisa) Gibson, R. Bryce (Fiancee Tiffany Barnes)  Gibson, and Vontoria M-J (Fiance Ben Baumgartner) Gibson, Fiancee – Lisa L. Allgood (Engaged since May 2023), Edinburg, Ill.; great grandchildren – Rosalie M Gibson, Westen L. Gibson (Twin), Walker B. Gibson (Twin); brother – Michael  (Fiance Brenda Brown) Lohman, Sparta, Ill., and sister – Diane Lively, Du Quoin, Ill.

He was preceded in death by: wife – Connie Marie Lohman (nee McDowell) – Died 7/19/2019; parents – August Harold and Norma Jean Lohman (nee Cole); sister – Debbie Lohman; father and mother-in-law ñ Kenneth L. and Bonnie J. (nee Wall) McDowell; and brother-in-law – Kenneth E. McDowell.

Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, Ill.

Celebration of Life will be at 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at Marine Fire Fights Hall in Marine, Ill.

Memorial contributions may be made to Highland Animal Shelter.
