After winning the regional championship Friday night, the Greenville Comets basketball team is preparing for Wednesday’s sectional game against the Carlinville Cavaliers. Coach Todd Cantrill told us Monday how the team is preparing for the upcoming game.
“We were able to defeat them earlier in the year, got away with a 2-point win up at their place,” Cantrill said. “I feel like we’re playing well right now, we’ve got a good chance. We’re going to practice the next two days. We’ve got practice Monday and Tuesday both and we’re going to watch film on each day and then practice. There’s not a whole lot of secrets this time of year, especially with conference games so it’s just who prepares and who ultimately just goes out and plays the best on Wednesday night.”
Cantrill said he hopes to see a big crowd of local fans at the game. The Comets will play Carlinville Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. in Vandalia. You can hear the game Wednesday night on WGEL 101.7 FM or streaming on our website,www.wgel.com.
