Fifty Teams Participated At Comets Sports Boosters Three-on-Three

The Comets Sports Boosters fourth annual three-on-three basketball tournament brought its largest crowd yet with 50 teams participating on Saturday. Greenville High School Athletic Director Joe Alstat told us more about the event.

“It was a great fundraising event,” Alstat told WGEL. “Over 50 teams were here. It was open to boys and girls from grades three through eight, and again we had 50 teams here from…the metro-east—Collinsville, Troy, Edwardsville, Belleville, Effingham areas were all in attendance, a lot of Clinton County and a lot of Greenville as well. We’d like to thank Donnewald Distributing for donating our drinks for the occasion, and we appreciate all the help we had from volunteers and student helpers in our basketball programs as well.”

Preliminary totals for the fundraiser are over $4,000. Alstat said they plan to continue their tradition of three-on-three tournaments next spring.
