Hutchinson On First Regional Game

The Greenville Comets baseball team will participate in the first round of the Wesclin Regional this afternoon. WGEL spoke with head coach Todd Hutchinson about the game and how his team has prepared:

“Our guys have done a great job, just fighting through the year,” Hutchinson said. “I feel like we’ve gotten better each day out. Our guys are excited about the opportunity to try to keep this season going.

“We found out in May that we play so many days that our practice days are limited, so it’s been nice to get back out on the practice field Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday and just get back to the fundamental things. I think the little things end up becoming big things so if we can work on all that little stuff that needs to get taken care of, the fundamental aspects of baseball, I think that’s going to help us in the bigger games. We’ve tried to get back to doing things the way they need to be done.”

You can hear this afternoon’s Comets game against the Wesclin Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on WGEL 101.7 FM or streaming on our website,
