Comets Look For Second Win In Second Game

The Greenville Comets varsity football team will be back in action Friday in their home opener. The Comets are fresh off a big win last week and will host Piasa Southwestern, who are looking for their first win of the season. Coach Todd Hutchinson told us about his approach to tonight’s game.

“They played a tough Hillsboro team really tough,” he told us. “They lost 20 to 14. They played well. They’re a better football team than they were last year; they’re hungry. So we’ve got to come out and focus on what we do Comet football-wise, and that’s playing fast and being physical and taking care of each other. We’ve got go to back and try to win all three phases, continue to play hard, and just do what we do.”

You can hear Friday’s game live from Don Stout Field at Greenville High School on WGEL 101.7 FM or streaming online at Pre-game coverage begins around 6:30 p.m. and the game kicks off at 7:00.
