A Greenville College athlete was named a St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week and another was recognized with an honorable mention this week.
GC Soccer player Thomas Crown, a senior from St. Louis, Mo., was named the Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. He allowed just one goal in two games this week including a shutout win over conference foe Spalding. Crown stopped four of five shots faced against Benedictine-Springfield to start the week. He stopped all five shots against Spalding, blanking the Golden Eagles for the first time this season, recording his second shutout of the year.
GC Volleyball player Nicole Schaeffer was recognized for notching a double-double against Spalding with 16 kills and 18 digs. Later the same day, Schaeffer recorded her 1,000th career kill in a win over Westminster.
