The Greenville Comets are looking to finish their season undefeated with a win against the Vandalia Vandals Friday night.
Comets head coach Todd Hutchinson told WGEL he’s expecting a great game.
“Three out of their last four, they’ve won in the last minute,” Hutch said. “They’re a team that’s played four quarters. They play hard, I think. They need that sixth win to make sure they’re in the playoffs.
“It’s going to be a great football game. I feel like our guys are ready to go, so it’s time to put the pads on and go out and do some hitting.”
Friday’s game is the Third Annual Pink Bowl, sponsored by Greenville Regional Hospital.
“In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Greenville Regional Hospital is proud to do their part to increase awareness and sponsor the third annual Pink Bowl football game,” Greenville Regional Hospital Chief Nursing Officer Tammy Lett told WGEL. “The Comets are looking to defend the three-foot Pink Bowl trophy and take it home once again. We encourage everyone to wear pink with their school colors to show their support for the fight against breast cancer.”
