Comets: Fan Support “Makes All The Difference”

The undefeated Greenville Comets will host the Bloomington Central Catholic Saints this Saturday in round one of the 4A IHSA football playoffs.

WGEL spoke with Comets Head Coach Todd Hutchinson about the impact Comets fans have on the game.

“It certainly makes all the difference,” he told us. “We certainly hear our fans and we feel the excitement from our fans. It’s been like that since day one. I feel like we have the best fans around and we certainly are very appreciative of their support. Our kids really try to do what they can to fight for them and this school and this community and make them proud of what they do.”

Saturday’s game gets underway at 1:00 p.m. Gates open at 11:30 a.m. Tickets are $5, set by the IHSA. You can hear the game right here on WGEL 101.7 FM or streaming online at, with pre-game coverage beginning around 12:40.
