Comets Not Concerned About 4A Status

The Comets are heading into round one of the IHSA playoffs this Saturday. This year, the Comets have been placed in Class 4A rather than Class 3A.

Comets Head Coach Todd Hutchinson said he and the team are not concerned about the difference.

“It’s just another great opportunity and a new adventure and a great chance to play some different people,” he said. “It’s not at all something we’re disappointed about. Things are what you make them and we’re going to make this a positive experience and come out and play different people and try to give our kids the best chance we can to be successful on the field.

“The last time I checked, they still have 11 people on the field in 4A like they did in 3A. It’s the same playing field, just a little bigger schools. But we’re confident in what we have and we know we just need to go out and make plays.”

The Comets will host the Bloomington Central Catholic Saints this Saturday at Don Stout Field. Game time is 1:00 p.m., gates open at 11:30 a.m. Tickets are $5 each, set by the IHSA.
