Several Greenville College athletes have been named St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Players of the Week.
Jacob Jones, a sophomore from Litchfield, was named the Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week after helping the GC Panthers get back into the win column in both of their games last week. Jones scored the game tying goal with just eight-seconds left, sparking his team to an overtime win over Blackburn and he netted his team’s only goal in a double overtime win over Principia.
Thomas Crown, a senior from St. Louis, was named the Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. Crown allowed just one goal in a pair of conference matches last week, making three saves in an overtime win over Blackburn and six saves in a shutout win over Principia. This marks the fourth time this season Crown has won Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Jamie Schollenbruch, a junior at GC, was named the Defensive Volleyball Player of the Week. In three games last week, Jamie averaged 6.55 digs per set and finished with 72 digs in three matches. This marks the second time this year she has won the Defensive Volleyball Player of the Week award.
