In the final match of the season, Greenville defeated Salem 3-1 (sectional format) at home Thursday night for its 14th victory. Last year’s team went 13 -6 and with 7 of 8 Varsity returning, they topped that record this season, going 14-4.
Abby Gaffner won at #1 singles 6-2, 6-0.
#1 doubles: Dhiral Patel & Emily Henderson lost 6-2, 6-2.
#2 doubles Katelyn Eller/Katie Timmermann won 6-0, 6-2
In the deciding match, #2 singles Anya Thomas battled back from a 4-6, 1-5 deficit (including fighting off 2 match points) to triumph 4-6, 7-6 (7-1) 6-3.
