Hutchinson Named USA Today Offensive Player Of The Year In Illinois


In further recognition of the great year Comets’ Quarterback Tyler Hutchinson had, USA Today has named him offensive player of the year for Illinois.

Hutchinson went 221 for 432 passing for 3,855 yard and 56 touchdowns. Hutchinson broke the state career record for passing yards with a pass to his brother Ryan near the end of the regular season. Hutchinson started for three straight years for the Comets.

Congratulations to Tyler, his father and Coach Todd Hutchinson, and all the Comets teammates and coaches.

USA Today also named Derek Leonard of Rochester coach of the year, and Lacale London of Peoria defensive player of the year.
