The Greenville Comets basketball team held their end-of-season banquet Sunday afternoon.
The Comets finished their season with a record of 29-and-4. 29 wins is a record for the team. Other team records set this season include the lowest defensive points allowed per game, 43.6; the lowest field goal percentage allowed, 37%; the most three-point field goals made, 177; and the most games played in a season, 33.
Individual records set include 88 three-point baskets in a season, set by Will Schaufelberger.
Player awards given Sunday include the Free Throw award to Will Schaufelberger, who made 36 out of 45; the Assists Award to Craig Faulkner with 106; and the Rebounds Award to Jacob Hall with 171. The JV Hustle Award went to Brady Simpson and Ryan Hutchinson, who tied for the honor. The Varsity Hustle Award went to Jacob Hall. David Holden was named Offensive Player of the Year and Tyler Hutchinson was recognized as the Defensive Player of the Year.
Four players were elected to the Comets Hall of Fame: Jacob Hall for 719 career points, Austin Lawrence for 803 career points and a 70.1 free throw percentage, Will Schaufelberger for 898 career points and a 76.9 free throw percentage, and Craig Faulkner for 828 career points, 252 assists, and a 75.9 free throw percentage.
