Comets Baseball Improve Record This Week

The Greenville Comets baseball team picked up its seventh and eighth wins of the season this week.

Monday, the Comets were on their home field and defeated Mater Dei 6-1.

Ryan Hutchinson earned the pitching victory as he went the distance. He struck out five, walked five and yielded nine hits.

On offense, Craig Faulkner led the way with two hits. Also hitting safely were Tyler Hutchinson, Jacob Hall, Kyle Dugan and Chanz Kunkel. Faulkner, Dugan and Kaeden Mollett drove in runs.

Tuesday afternoon, the baseball Comets were on the road and stopped South Central 14-10. The winners pounded out 13 hits including three by Tyler Hutchinson, two by Faulkner, Dugan and Mollett, and one by Ryan Hutchinson, Hall, Dillon Halleman and Kunkel. Mollett was credited with three RBI’s and Halleman had two.

The Comets starting pitcher was Lucas Carlson. He was relieved in the second inning by Hall who earned the victory in the seven-inning game.
