The Greenville High School varsity boys baseball team swept a home doubleheader Saturday to improve its season record to 5-3.
The Comets defeated Harvard 18-4 in five innings and 8-3.
In the first game, the Comets scored six runs in each of the third and fourth innings. Players with two hits each included Brady Fletcher, Ryan Hutchinson, and Jacob Hall. Also hitting safely were Tyler Hutchinson, Craig Faulkner, and Kyle Dugan. Driving in runs were Fletcher, Tyler and Ryan Hutchinson, Hall, Faulkner, Dugan, Kaeden Mollett, Dillon Halleman, and Josh Pierce.
Halleman was the starting pitcher. Tyler Hutchinson relieved him in the second inning. In three and two-thirds innings, Hutchinson struck out seven and gave up two hits.
In the second game 8-3 victory, lefty Ryan Hutchinson tossed a four-hit complete game, striking out five.
On offense, he had two hits and one RBI. Other hits were by Tyler Hutchinson, Dugan, and Ty Sexton.
