Pana Wins Boys, Girls Titles At Comet Relays

The 30th annual Comets Relays was held Friday afternoon at the Greenville High School track.

A total of 14 teams, seven girls and seven boys competed.

Pana won both championships, claiming the girl’s plaque with 89 points while Nashville was second with 84 points.

The Pana boys posted 98 points with Nashville the runner-up with 83 points.

The Lady Comets placed fourth with 56 points, 14 points behind the third place Vandalia team.

The Comet boys were fifth with 57 points.

The only GHS victory was turned in by the boy’s 800 relay squad. The local boys finished third in the discus.

Girl’s results for GHS included second in the two-mile relay, and third in the distance medley relay, varsity 400 meter relay, 800 sprint medley relay, hurdles relay and pole vault.

Hillsboro finished third in the boy’s standings and fifth in the boy’s competition, Mater Dei was sixth in the boy’s and girl’s standings, and Vandalia’s boys placed seventh.
