Comets Tennis Defeats Alton Marquette 7-2 Monday

Greenville Comets won another hard-fought battle over Marquette on Monday at home. They jumped out to a 2-0 lead winning at 5 and 3 singles. Then with a loss at #6 singles they had three very close matches at 1, 2, and 5 singles.

Mitch Cole and Silas Groves who both lost close matches at Marquette pulled off victories at home. Cole and Groves came from behind in doubles, losing the first set and down 3-4 in the second before battling back to win in three.

Mitch Cole defeated Berkinbile 7-6 (7-5), 7-6 (7-3)
Silas Groves defeated Claywell 6-7 (4-7), 6-2, 10-3
Will Schaufelberger defeated McCune 6-3, 6-2
Jeremiah Brannon lost to Wendle 3-6, 7-6 (7-2), 5-10
Kenan Oestreich defeated Morrissey 6-1, 6-1
Josh Brannon lost to Cousley 1-6, 1-6
