Soccer history was made Friday evening at Greenville High School as the Lady Comets won the first regional championship in the girl’s program history.
Greenville beat Staunton 3-0 in the regional title game held at Tom Doll Field in Greenville. Katie Horton, now the career leading scorer, recorded two of the goals and had one assist. The other goal was by Elizabeth Boyd. Katie Munshaw also had an assist.

The Lady Comets, now 13-11 for the season, advance to sectional play Tuesday, travelling to Quincy Notre Dame for a 6:30 p.m. game.
