Big Crowd Anticipated To Support Homers For The Heart Event

Over 200 people are expected to participate in the second annual Homers for the Heart Home Run Derby and Wiffle Ball Tournament Saturday, August 8 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Highland.

The event is coordinated by the Greg Holthaus Memorial Fund in memory of Greg Holthaus, who passed away in 2013. Greg’s mother, Gail, told WGEL the mission of the organization is to promote heart screenings in area youth. Click below to hear more:

Heart screenings will be provided for those 18 and older at the event for $34, which was Greg Holthaus’s baseball jersey number.

Proceeds from the event will be split with the Highland Area Resource Team.
