Pocahontas School Wins Sportsmanship Award

Pocahontas School has received the 2015 Illinois Elementary School Association Division Sportsmanship Award for good citizenship.

The peer-selected award recognizes coaches, players, and fans. Principal Jason Rakers told WGEL it’s truly a community award. He said it is an honor everyone in Pocahontas can be proud of. Click below to hear his comments:

The school received a large banner that is now on display in the gymnasium.
