Milwaukee Bucks GM On Hand For GC Tennis Courts Rededication

John Hammond

As previously reported on WGEL, John Hammond, a member of the Greenville College Athletic Hall Of Fame, was back at his alma matter for the rededication of the Scott Burgess Tennis Courts earlier this month.

Hammond was the roommate of Burgess in 1972 when Scott was fatally injured on the basketball court at G.C.

Hammond has been the general manager of the Milwaukee Bucks in the National Basketball Association for several years. Earlier in his career he was a college coach and an assistant coach in the NBA.

At homecoming, Hammond talked about his career and the impact Greenville College has had in his life, thinking back to the trying time when his roommate died.
