Area Teams To Compete In Football Playoffs Saturday

Area high school teams will be playing Saturday in the second round of the Illinois High School Association football playoffs.

Breese Mater Dei, currently 7 and 3, will host undefeated Columbia at 1:00 p.m. in Class 4A action.

Two South Central Conference teams are still alive in the playoffs. Unbeaten Pana travels to Lawrenceville for a Class 2A contest at 1:00 p.m. and Carlinville, 8 and 2, will be at St. Joseph-Ogden for a Class 3A game at 2:00 p.m.

Triad, 9 and 1, will host Lincoln Way West in Class 5A action at 3:00 p.m. Saturday.

The other area playoff game is Niantic-Sangamon Valley at Nashville in Class 2A action at 2:00 p.m.
