The Greenville Bluejays 8th grade boys’ basketball team opened the season Tuesday night with a home victory over Aviston.
The final score was 48 to 35.
The Bluejays led after every quarter. Top scorers for the winning team were J’von Kinney with 11 points and Gavin Heard with 10.
The 7th grade Bluejays were edged by Aviston 22 to 20.
It was close throughout the game with Greenville in front by a point at halftime.
Leading the Bluejays in scoring was Fletcher Manhart with 9 points.
The seventh grade squad is now 1 and 2 for the season.
The next game for the Bluejays will be November 13 at Triad Middle School.
