Lady Comets Coach On Basketball Season So Far

The Greenville Lady Comets varsity basketball team is now 2 and 2 for the season after a 53 to 48 win over Roxana, at home Monday night.

Head Coach Kolin Dothager said the win was big for his team, especially since there is a one-week break in the schedule for the holiday.

The teams traded leads during the game. With about three minutes left, Madison Funneman put in a layup to put the Lady Comets in front for good. Brianna Wade came up with some big plays with a couple of steals and two free throws to build on the lead.

Coach Dothager said Wade, a senior, is an important member of the team.

Funneman led Greenville in scoring with 20 points. Wade and Taylor Snow had 8 apiece.

The Lady Comets play at home Monday against Nokomis and host Wood River next Tuesday night.
