Greenville Comets To Honor Kent Kesner Friday Night

The man who broadcast Greenville Comets games over WGEL for more than 30 years, Kent Kesner, will be honored Friday night at the Comets’ boys basketball game.

Kent passed away on December 2.

GHS Athletic Director Joe Alstat told WGEL the Comets will hold a short ceremony around 7:00 p.m. following the JV basketball game. A moment of silence will be observed and Kent’s sister, Kim Lugge will be presented with a token of appreciation.

The Comets players will also wear a patch in memory of Kent on their jerseys.

The Comets game against Gillespie can be heard on WGEL or our website.
