GHS Cheerleaders Finish In 7th Place At ICCA State Competition

The Greenville High School cheerleaders finished 7th at the ICCA State Competition last weekend. According to coach Amanda Simpson, it is believed to be the squad’s highest finish in the competition.

There were 26 of the best small varsity teams from all over Illinois in Springfield last weekend. Simpson said it is a huge accomplishment for the cheerleading program.

The IHSA series begins on Saturday, January 30. The GHS cheerleaders will compete in a sectional of 20 small varsity teams from the southern region. If the girls place in the top five, they will advance to the state series the following weekend.
