The Greenville Comets’ baseball team had a 3 and 3 overall record going into this week, after splitting two games Saturday.
In the first game, the Comets edged Teutopolis 2 to 0. Dillon Hallemann was the winning pitcher, tossing a five-hit shutout.
Josh Pierce drove in the go-ahead run in the fourth inning with a sacrifice fly and Andy Cruthis’ RBI single in the sixth inning gave the Comets an insurance run.
GHS had just three hits. They were by Ty Sexton, Pierce and Cruthis.
Columbia whipped the Comets in the second game by the score of 17 to 4. Halleman had a two-run homer.
Other hits were by Sexton. Christian Moss, Cruthis and Garrett Durborrow.
The baseball Comets play at Breese Central on Wednesday and go to Gillespie on Friday.
