GHS Hosts Track Meets

The Greenville High School boy’s and girl’s track teams hosted triangular meets Monday.

The Comets finished first with 92 and one-half points, Hillsboro placed second with 54 points and Gillespie was third.

In girl’s action, Hillsboro led the teams with 78 points, Gillespie was second with 49 points and the Lady Comets finished third with 48 points.

The Comet boys won 12 events. Winners were David Pearman in the discus, David Holden in the high jump, Cody Smith in the two-mile run, Mahari Holt in the 100 meter dash and 400 meter run, Collin Kessinger in the 800 meter run, Ryker Grove in the mile run, Brady Simpson in the triple jump, and the Comets’ 800 meter, one-mile and two-mile relay teams were victorious. C.J. Hanna tied for first in the shot put.

Lady Comets’ winning events included Taylor Kalous in the discus, Madelyn Daiber in the shot put, Emma Leonhard in the two-mile run, and Hannah Williams in the mile run.
