Holden Receives State Basketball Honors

Greenville Comets basketball player David Holden has received state honors for his play this past season.

He was named to the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association all-state second team. Holden has also been invited to play in the IBCA South All-Star Game, the second weekend of June in Pontiac.

Also nominated to play was Logan Kohrmann from Breese Central.

Holden led the Comets in scoring, averaging over 20 points per game. During the season, he joined the 1,000-point club for his career, and he entered the GHS Hall Fame in the categories of points scored and free throw percentage.

Kohrmann was a member of the Breese Central team that finished third in the Class 2A state tournament.
