Panthers Baseball Narrowly Miss Regionals

The Greenville College Panthers baseball team ended up one win away from going to the NCAA Division III regionals.

Over the weekend G.C. hosted the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament. The champion advanced to the regional round.

Since they already had one tourney loss, the Panthers entered Saturday having to defeat Westminster College twice to claim the title.

G.C. won the first game 9 to 1 to force a second one.

The Panthers took a 4 to 0 lead in the second contest and led 5 to 1 through five innings.

Westminster moved in front with five runs in the sixth and added three more runs in the eight to win the championship.

For Greenville, Danny Strohm, C.J. Opp and Dathan Berning were named to the all-tournament team.

Greenville ended the season with a 24 and 21 overall record.
