A new school year is upon us and that means high school sports are also just around the corner.
The Comets Sports Boosters Club at Greenville High School has begun its annual membership drive.
GHS Athletic Director Joe Alstat said the boosters have been an important part of the athletic department, paying the bills for athletic supplies and equipment for the past several years. He said the group has also played a part in several big projects.

Alstat said all Comet supporters are urged to join. He added that many alumni from throughout the U.S. have become members.

Two big projects that were recently completed and funded by the booster club are the addition of a pavilion on the south end of the concession stand at the baseball-football complex and a new public address system at the track and football field.
