Playing their first home game of 2016 Friday night, the Greenville Comets rolled to a 50 to 6 victory over the Southwestern Birds.
The Comets are now 2 and 0 for the season.
They scored the first time they had the ball Friday night, and led 14 to 0 after one quarter. It was 36 to 0 at halftime.
Greenville outscored Southwestern 14 to 6 in the third quarter.
Comet quarterback Ryan Hutchinson completed 19 passes for 358 yards and five touchdowns.
Brady Simpson caught 9 passes for 247 yards and four touchdowns. One of them covered 79 yards.
Brandon Hamel grabbed six passes for 102 yards. He had one TD.
Running back Christian Moss ran for 129 yards and two touchdowns. One TD run was for 54 yards.
The Comets are at home again this Friday night against Carlinville.
