With the registration deadline passed, Kingsbury Park District officials have determined which softball and baseball leagues will play a brief season.
Kayla Curry, recreation programmer, told WGEL there are enough participants for two teams in t-ball, soft toss, Junior girls’ softball, Rookie baseball and Intermediate baseball.
Boys and girls will play two games a week from August 3 through August 21.
Curry said since the junior high school baseball season has been cancelled due to COVID-19, the district is creating a Junior High Baseball League. Registration at KingsburyParkDistrict.com ends Friday, July 31.
It is open to all seventh and eighth grade boys. Play will also be August 3-21.
Curry said as soon as a boy registers for the program, he can begin attending group practices being held from 9 a.m. to noon at the Jaycee Field, under the direction of Junior High Coach Trevor Stoecklin.
