The Greenville Comets picked up their third win of the season Friday night at home.
The Comets took control in the fourth quarter and won 37-21.
Neither team did much scoring in the first half. It was 15-15 at halftime. The Comets scored point number 16 early in the third quarter and never trailed the rest of the game.
It was a 23-19 GHS lead after three frames and Greenville outscored the Explorers 14-2 in the final quarter. The Comets’ biggest lead was 18 points.
Jack Schaufelberger led the Comets’ scoring list with 11 points. Fletcher Manhart posted nine and Peyton McCullough six.
The Comets are 3-1 for the season and they host Nokomis Monday night. The game will be broadcast on WGEL and streamed at WGEL . com.
The freshman Comets are also 3-1 after beating Marquette 64-53. Kaleb Gardner poured in 27 points. Chrisean Charleston totaled 12 and Nick Grull had 10.
The junior varsity Comets were defeated by Marquette 75-46. Landon Moss scored 14 points and Wesley Stoecklin 11.
