Coach Heidi Tarasuik said her Mulberry Grove team struggled with passing and communicating, and the opponent featured strong serving.
Brooke Tompkins had three points, four digs, a kill and an ace; while Jessi Mezo posted two points and two digs, and Molly Koontz had three digs.
The Aces lost to Ramsey, 20-25, 20-25.
Peyton Simpson served eight points with four aces, Mezo had four points and three aces, Dakota Kruep came up with three aces, and Abby Brown posted a kill.
In junior varsity matches, Cowden Herrick-Beecher City won 25-7, 25-18.
Megan Schewe had four points, two aces and a kill for Mulberry Grove, Naveah Rogers, Cortney Stewart and Genesis Williams served two points each; Williams had two aces, and Rogers recorded a kill.
The JV Aces lost to Ramsey 5-25, 5-25.
