Lady Comets Defeated, But Volley For The Cure Was A Winning Night For All

Greenville High School hosted the annual Volley for the Cure volleyball match between Vandalia and Greenville last Thursday.

Proceeds from the event went to the Lemuel Rhodes Cancer Foundation of Bond County. A collection was also taken for Unit 2 school nurse Carisa Bohannon.

On the court, the Vandalia varsity girls won 25-13, 25-13.

For the Lady Comets, Ava Curry and Jayden Markus had 12 digs apiece while Brooklyn Suzuki had nine.

Ali Ridens came up with four assists and three points, Claire Dannaman had three points, and Rachel Woods and Lilly Funneman posted two kills each.

The junior varsity Lady Comets won their match in three games, and the freshman match went to Vandalia in three games.
