Illinois high school state championship football games will be played Friday and Saturday at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb.
Nashville is in the Class 2A title game after the Hornets edged Decatur St. Teresa, 37-35, in the semifinals. A 24-yard field goal with 3.9 seconds remaining won it for Nashville.
The Hornets, now 12-1, will meet unbeaten Wilmington at 1 p.m. Friday.
Carrollton, 12-1, is in the Class 1A title contest at 10 a.m. Friday against Lena Winslow, who is 11-3.
The East St. Louis Flyers are back in a football championship game. The Flyers are in Class 6A and play Saturday at 1 p.m.
East St. Louis is 11-2 and goes up against unbeaten Cary Grove.
Last Saturday, Tolono Unity beat Mt. Carmel 28-21, and Tolono is now in the Class 3A title game against Byron at 4 p.m. Friday.
Both teams have 13-0 records.
