Lady Comets Defeat Southwestern

Playing at home Monday night, the Greenville Lady Comets rolled to a 39-14 win over Southwestern Piasa.

The Lady Comets never trailed in the game, scoring the first seven points and leading 10-4 at the quarter break. It was 18-8 at halftime and 33-10 after three quarters.

Greenville used an effective defensive press which caused several Southwestern turnovers.

Top scorers for the Lady Comets were Abby Sussenbach with 10 points, Charlee Stearns and Brooklyn Suzuki with eight apiece and Lilly Funneman with seven. The winning team sank five three-point shots.

The win gives the Lady Comets a 3-7 overall record and a 2-1 mark in the South Central Conference.

Their next game is Saturday in the Greenville Shootout. The local girls play Father McGivney at noon. The game will be broadcast on WGEL.
