The Greenville Junior High cheerleading squad performed at the Illinois Cheerleading Coaches Association state championship competition Sunday in Springfield.

The Blue Jays finished sixth in the small school division.

Cheer Coach Gayla Brauns said it is remarkable how her team has improved during the season. She said the cheerleaders started the season with no experience with competing and cheerleading at their level. She said they worked hard all season and it was fun to see them improve with each competition.
