The Greenville Comets suffered a 72-59 loss at Hillsboro Wednesday night.
The Hilltoppers got off to a fast start, missing only one shot in the opening quarter, and leading 25-15 after eight minutes.
It was 46-33 at halftime and the margin reached 23 points during the third frame, but by the end of the third the Comets got back to within 16.
GHS got no closer than 12 points late in the game.
The Comets are 4-2 in the South Central Conference. They play at Columbia Saturday afternoon.
