Baseball Comets Win At Busch

The thrill of playing in Busch Stadium was capped off with a win for the Greenville Comets baseball team Saturday.

The Comets defeated Clinton 7-4, following the St. Louis-Arizona major league baseball game.

The GHS squad led 3-1 after two innings, but it was tied at three after three frames. The Comets posted three runs in the fourth and another tally in the fifth.

The winners recorded 14 hits with Mason Barnes leading the way with four, including two doubles.

Players with two hits included Haiden Graham, Ryan Jackson and Trent Bohannon. Other hits were by Drew Potthast, Ryan Harnetiaux, Edward Jurgena and Mark Bilyeu.

Pitching for the Comets were Barnes, Jurgena, Harnetiaux, Nick Grill and Hudson Alstat.

The varsity Comets are now 12-11 for the season.
