An exciting softball season came to an end Saturday for the Mulberry Grove Lady Aces in the championship game of the Greenfield Class 1A Regional.
Hardin-Calhoun defeated Mulberry Grove 5-1.
The Lady Aces fell behind 5-0 before scoring in the sixth inning. Jenni Mezo and Micah Greenwood reached base on bunts, and then stole bases to reach second and third. Mezo scored on a passed ball.
Lily Johnson pitched for Mulberry Grove, striking out 12 batters in six innings. Hardin-Calhoun had five hits and received four walks.
The loss ended the Lady Aces’ 11-game winning streak. They finished the season with a 17-7 record.
