Greenville Lady Blue Jays Basketball Underway

The Greenville Junior High girls basketball season is underway.

The seventh grade team won two contests of four, and the eighth graders won once.

The eighth grade squad posted a 27-18 victory over Vandalia. Miley Matthews scored 17 points while Ava Schaefer totaled seven.

Brownstown topped the Lady Blue Jays 30-15 with Schaefer and Matthews scoring four points apiece.

Pocahontas defeated the eighth grade Greenville team 31-3, and Altamont was an 18-11 winner over the Lady Jays. Schaefer has seven points in the Altamont contest.

The seventh grade Greenville squad beat Vandalia 21-6. Nova Roeder had an 11-point game and Mya Neely four.

The other win was a 13-4 decision over Altamont. Neely and Maelyn Schneck totaled four points apiece.

Brownstown downed the Lady Jays 15-7. Leading the Greenville scoring was Maelyn Schneck with four points.

The Lady Jays were beaten by Pocahontas, 33-6, with Roeder scoring four.
