The eighth grade Greenville Blue Jays basketball team played in Effingham Saturday and dropped two games.
The Greenville boys lost to St. Anthony, 45-33. They led by a point at halftime, then were outscored by nine points in the third quarter.
Top scorers for the Jays were Aiden Linnabary with 10 points and Paxton Ackerman with nine.
The Blue Jays were also defeated by Salem, 39-26. Both teams scored 12 points in the opening quarter, then Salem slowly pulled away with the lead.
Christian Swalley scored 13 points for Greenville.
