Carlyle Second, Comets Third In Tournament

The 24th Annual Kaskaskian Classic boys basketball tournament wrapped up Saturday in Carlyle.

Pinckneyville won the title for the sixth straight time. The Panthers defeated Carlyle 51-43 in the championship game, giving the Indians second place.

Greenville won third place with a 42-40 win over Flora. Fifth place went to Okawville with a 58-47 decision over SIUE Charter, and Hillsboro beat Woodlawn 50-45 for seventh place.

Among those named to the all-tournament team were Kaleb Gardner and Cale Ackerman from Greenville, Matthew Guthrie and Hayden Huels (hills) from Carlyle, and Aiden Anderson from Okawville.
