Two former Lady Comets are now members of the Parkland College Athletic Hall of Fame in Champaign, Illinois.

Among those recently honored were Unit 2 High School graduates Kassidy (Alderman) Jaynes and Kelsey (Kniepmann) Bentlage.

Kassidy was a member of Parkland’s 2014-15 women’s basketball team, which was inducted into the Hall of Fame.  Kelsey played softball for the Cobras from 2011 to 2013.

While at Parkland, Kassidy was academic all-conference two years, and was named the Midwest Athletic Conference Player of the Year for the 2015-2016 season.  Both of her Cobra teams won conference championships, and she was selected to the All-Region 24 team for the 2015-16 campaign.

She is third all-time in career three-pointers with 131.

The 2014-15 basketball squad set a school record for wins with 35 and placed second in the NJCAA Division II National Championship.

Kelsey played second base on the softball field for the Cobras, earning NJCAA Division II All-American second team honors as a freshman.  That team placed third at the national tournament, and Kelsey received all-tournament recognition.  She was also an all-conference player both of her seasons at Parkland.
